In the rare scenario where your AirPods are going haywire, you may be looking to reset them completely. Follow along to learn how to reset AirPods in case of an emergency.
How to reset your AirPods
- Make sure both of your AirPods are in the case, and that both AirPods and the AirPods case have sufficient charge.
- On the back of your AirPods case, find the only button on the case exterior. It might be slightly difficult to find as it blends in pretty well with the back casing.
- Open your AirPods case, and hold the button for about 20 seconds. The indicator within the case will go from flashing white to flashing amber, indicating that AirPods have been reset.
And there you have it! Your AirPods are now reset and will no longer recognize your device or any devices tied to your iCloud account. Now, when you open the AirPods case, you’ll be prompted to set it up. This could be super handy if you’re selling or handing down your AirPods, for example.
